Monday 2nd January
As a younger man I would meticulously make New Year Resolutions with every intention of keeping them. Sometimes they actually lasted a few weeks, but they often fell at the first hurdle. Nowadays I find it far harder to make resolutions; partly because of experience – but largely because I have achieved a state of so near perfection that I am finding it harder and harder each year to think of any improvements.
So this year I am inviting you, my readers to think of New Years Resolutions; both for yourselves and for me. Please feel free to send me back your suggestions or to ignore this at your will,
I will try to………….more often next year
I will attempt to do less of………………..in the coming year
I will definitely stop doing……………..
I will attempt to learn how to…………………..
I will try to give up the filthy habit of…………………….
I will try to eat more………………………
I will definitely stop eating…………………
I will try to be …………………..to everyone I meet
I will stop being so……………………
But I will not stop………………no matter what people say
I will try to read……………………
I will certainly spend more time…………………
I will try not to waste so much time next year doing…………….
And any I might have forgotten…..hahaha
